Fiberholics - Spinning
This is a Kauri Nikolai spindle from The Bellwether.  It weighs about 20 grams, and spins smoothly and evenly.  The Kauri wood is very light, making this a laceweight spindle despite its size.
Two views of a homemade bead whorl spindle.  This bead is not spherical, yet it's balanced and spins quite well.  The shaft is a bamboo needle, US size 2.

Here's the fruits of my first rainbow dyepot.  The strip on the left was added near the end, as I was concerned that the dye had not exhausted.  I used the Ashford instructions and I love the results!
Peering into the dyepot, you can see my boo-boo.  Hmm, why is there no Violet in this rainbow?  The center hole is where I had put a canning jar, to prevent muddying up the colors.  In the later trials, I used a wad of dry roving ... worked great!
Carded up the various colors into rolags, and spun them in sequence.  This was for a project I can't post until after Christmas!

Staffan's socks were spun directly from roving.
This Southdown skein won Best Spindle-Spun and Best NY State Wool at the Finger Lakes Fiber Festival.  Spun on a canarywood Mini-Bosworth spindle, it's 50 wpi, 2-ply.
